Splashing in the water on a sunny day is one of the most refreshing things you can do - be it a paddle or an open water swim, everyone can do it.

One of our favourite things to do when the weather is nice is to hire paddleboards and kayaks at Loch Morlich. You can hire equipment by the hour and rental includes buoyancy aids and wetsuits if you need them. They have kayaks, paddleboards and canoes, so there's something for everyone. You can also hire equipment at Loch Insh Outdoor Centre.

The Shelter Stone is a large self-catering holiday rental house, located in Aviemore in the Highlands of Scotland.

A traditional stone-built lodge, the family-friendly house sleeps up to 13 across 6 bedrooms. The dramatic landscape of the Cairngorms National Park surrounds Aviemore, which is easily accessible by road and rail - and ideally situated for winter and summer breaks, skiing holidays, walking weekends, golf trips and whisky distillery tours.
