Things to do this autumn in Aviemore
There's loads to do in Aviemore all year round, but these are some of our favorite autumn activities for all the family.
Woodland Walks
There are many lovely walks easily accessible from The Shelter Stone. Just a short walk from the house you can access the Aviemore Orbital, which does what it says! There are also lovely lochside walks at Loch an Eileen and Loch Morlich and lovely trails through the forest up to the Green Lochan and beyond. Or you could venture to Loch Garten which has a visitor centre where you can do some wildlife spotting.
Carrbridge
Landmark Forest Adventure Park is a great day out for all the family. High ropes, Networx, butterfly house, climbing wall, water slides (summer only) and the bamboozeleum are just some of the fun things on offer. But be quick - the summer season ends soon and some activities shut for the winter.
Newtonmore
Step back in time and see how people in the highlands used to live. There are over 35 historical buildings onsite for you to explore, as well as a cafe, sweet shop and park.
Take a nostalgic train journey through the Cairngorm National Park aboard a steam train which will delight the little ones and big kids alike. The return trip lasts around 1 hour and 40 minutes departing Aviemore visiting Boat of Garten and Broomhill stations before returning to Aviemore. Alternatively you can disembark at Boat of Garten, grab a coffee and the cafe and wander back though the woods to Aviemore.
Aviemore
Everyone age four and up can experience the thrill of the race, with the younger children able to share a tandem kart with an adult., while 8 years plus can drive their own karts, so all the family can take part.
