There are lots of easy family friendly walks, through woodland and around lochs. You can reach the Aviemore Orbital easily on foot from the house, with Loch an Eilein and Loch Morlich just a short drive away. Another popular route is the walk of to the Green Lochan. Check out the Walk Highlands website for more details. These routes are suitable for buggies and cycling too.
Landmark Forest Adventure Park is always a winner with the kids, with lots to keep them occupied all day. There's water slides, high ropes, a butterfly house, dinosaurs and Networx amongst others. Likewise you won't go wrong with a trip to the Highland Wildlife Park or the Highland Folk Museum to learn about traditional highland life.
Aviemore Kart Raceway is fun for kids of all ages. They have karts suitable for kids age 3+ so all the family can have a go.
If the weather isn't being kind, then a trip to Aviemore Escape Rooms might be just the ticket as you work in teams to escape as quickly as you can.
And you can't visit the area without visiting Loch Morlich beach for a little paddle or for the more adventurous, some water sports on the Loch itself. Loch Morlich and Loch Insh offer a good selection of water based activities including paddle boarding, kayaking, sailing and canoeing. Loch Insh also have the Jungle Float - a floating play area, with slides and trampolines. You don't need to worry about the cold through, as they supply you with a wet suit too. Here's a wee review our kids did a couple of summers ago.
