There are so many beautiful spots in the Cairngorm National Park, that it's hard to know where to explore first.

One of our favourite walks is up to the Green Lochan (Lochan Uaine), through the ancient Glenmore pinewoods, as it's suitable for all the family.

You can start this walk from the Glenmore Visitor Centre, and following the well maintained paths and way markers, easily walk to the to the Green Lochan. If you want a slightly longer walk, you can continue on the path out to the Ryovan Bothy, before turning back and retracing your steps to the lochan and back through the forest tracks to the visitor centre. The return trip is about 10km and can take around 2-3hours. The tracks to the lochan are suitable for buggies, bikes and walkers which makes it a popular walk all year round.
