A beautiful time of year to visit

Autumn in the Cairngorms is truly beautiful. From the first signs of heather to the falling leaves, you're sure to encounter some gorgeous scenery during your visit.

It's a great time of year to get out exploring in the hills and around the local lochs. There is a walk to suit every ability, from low level walks around Loch an Eilein, to the Lairig Gruh. Or if you just want to admire the views, you could take the Funicular to the top of Cairngorm mountain. Either way you'll be delighted by the views - even in inclement weather! I think the heather looks atmospherically beautiful and moody in the mist.
